Global Issues - What Are They?Whether you're a professional seeking career growth or you're a parent and are looking for guidance on child development, you'll find there are many issues covered in books, articles, e-books, courses, seminars, and global issues websites. What's the difference between the different global issues topics? Many people confuse the word 'global' with 'global issues,' but it's actually not that simple.
When a world-wide issue is addressed in a book, article, or website, it is only one of those global issues. Global issues can also be discussed in a series of articles at various websites.
Some global issues involve any topic in a particular country that is of concern to its citizens. The main global issues might be animal rights, personal rights, or world peace. Other global issues are also drug abuse and human rights.
You may have seen many global issues listed in a book on general topics. Such as environmental protection, sex trafficking, or use of substandard drugs. One of the biggest global issues is human rights, which is recognized by the United Nations as a universal right and which is a topic to be treated seriously in many countries.
Individual issues on a global scale include a host of things, including animal rights, child abuse, or the concerns of native Americans. Other types of issues on a global scale may be things like racism, mass murder, slavery, abortion, or self-reliance. In addition, in some of these cases, one issue may be addressing another issue without the problems having anything to do with each other.
It's understandable that some countries are more affected by global issues than others. For example, while the United States may be able to take care of its own poor, less-developed areas, it's unlikely that African countries will take care of their own poor areas because those places require more resources to be developed and even then, many people are still underdeveloped.
So one could argue that those world poverty issues should be left to the world governments to take care of. There is also some argument that the U.N. does not measure the level of global problems and is therefore unable to manage them effectively. You'll often see these claims come up on global issues forums, but unfortunately, there is no real way to deal with such issues.
Rather than taking one specific approach, you should view global issues as a whole. Be aware of the real issues and make sure they're addressed in your area. There are several good websites where you can find good information on various issues like child development and child abuse.
